This captivating Montevideo excursion commences at the hotel. A warm welcome awaits you from our friendly driver just out in the hotel hall. Step into a comfortable, air-conditioned private vehicle, embarking on a 120 minutes journey through the scenic beauty of Montevideo.
Colonial landmarks and cobblestone streets abound in Barrio Histórico, a UNESCO-listed historic district on the Rio de la Plata that combines Spanish, Portuguese and post-colonial urban design. Portón de Campo is an old city gate with a drawbridge, while a lighthouse among the ruins of a 17th-century convent offers views of the waterfront neighborhood. Serene Barrio Histórico also has museums, hotels and eateries.
Plaza de toros Real de San Carlos is a former bullring in Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. Built in 1909 it was shortly closed after prohibition of bull fighting in 1912. After a century of abandonment, in 2021 it was finally restored and transformed into a cultural center for musical or sportive events.
This waterfront promenade is a must when exploring Colonia's old town, especially when the sun sets.
